Love Hoops, Fight Cancer

Founded in 2025 by John Blackwell, assistant coach at Beechwood High School and longtime high school coach in Indiana and the tri-state, Cincy Shoots for a Cure has become the tri-state basketball community's collaboration to raise money for the fight against cancer, while generating excitement and opportunities around basketball in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. Like essentially everyone, John's family and friend's families have been impacted by cancer. He set out to combine two things he is extremely passionate about: basketball in the tri-state area and helping improve the odds of beating cancer for current and future generations. He did so in a way that everyone can support, get involved and contribute to excitement around basketball in the area. Varsity coaches and athletic directors were quickly on board with the vision, making this a true city-wide effort. Between varsity games committed to the cause, fun and active events in the summer, clinics for coaches and the youth in the tri-state, everyone can find an opportunity to have some fun while supporting the fight against cancer. Head back to the home page to donate now, buy a t-shirt, or check out upcoming games and events that you can be a part of. Cincy Shoots for a Cure is a non-profit corporation, 501c3 status is pending. It's mission is to support local and national cancer support and research initiatives.
